| Specifically designed for sterilizing
cell culture media. Disposable culture capsules
incorporate two layers of low protein binding HT Tuffryn*
(polysulfone) membrane for reliable purification.
Pleated design for maximum throughput and effective
filtration.
Body housing and end caps are constructed of
polycarbonate with a polypropylene core and vent plug.
The upstream/downstream filter support is polyester. For
additional safety, a polycarbonate filling bell is
available. Sterilized by gamma irradiation. If further
sterilization is desired prior to use, capsules may be
autoclaved once only at 121°C (250°F) for 20 minutes at
1.0bar (15psi). Nonpyrogenic.
Culture capsules pass USP Class VI-121°C Plastics
Test. Endotoxicity is less than 0.5 EU/mL using the
Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) Test. Finished product
has been sampled and tested for bacterial retention per
ASTM F838-83 methodology using Brevundimonous
diminuta at 107 organisms/cm2
in cell culture media.
